Excellent surf hat. It stays on through the wipeouts. Brim flips up easily for paddling. Used it in mex during the middle of the day. Great sun protection. My head is right between the medium and large sizes. I went with the large. Wish I had gone with the medium so it would sit a little higher on my head.

I use it for kitesurfing, until now is ok. With strong winds I have to tigh it a litle more in my head and it flaps a little but it is a nice hat, the best that i have.

It is very durable and stayed on while surfing. But it does cut down on one's visibility, so for that reason I had to tilt it up before catching a wave. Kinda kills the whole purpose of it. Visor would probably be better for me.

This is a great hat to wear hanging out at Lanikai Beach. Lanikai Beach is a kitesurfer's paradise, and it is windy. This hat kept its shape in the wind, and kept me safe and protected from the sun during even the noon hours. It is the most stylish and functional hat you can find for now, there the chin straps will keep it on your hat. It is high quality and worth every cent. I wish it will be another color, like neon pink, fuchsia pink, blue, white, green. I will buy it all.

bought for my fair skinned girlfriend to wear suring mid morning surfs in central america. works great! combo of fit adjustments and chin strap make it comfortable, but also staying in place for big sets and tought wipeouts. she's super happy and digs the blue

Just got back from a surf trip to Costa Rica, where I got so much sun on my face last year without a hat. I wanted more protection this trip and honestly, was skeptical of wearing a hat when surfing, but this hat's a gem. It is truly duck dive and wipeout proof and I love that the brim flips up so you can see where you're going when paddling out or for a wave. I'm stoked on my purchase and will keep using this hat until it's a scrap, then buy another Kaiola hat to replace it. Thanks!

I’ve had the previous model which is thought was good but this large bucket hat is brilliant for out in the surf on a sunny day I would highly recommend this hat to anyone who surfs and wants the glare and heat off your head while out in the water

I have tried a lot of surf hats and this one is the best so far. The chin strap is comfortable, snug and does a good job keeping the hat on your head when getting pounded. Sun protection is excellent and it looks a lot better than most other surf hats on the market. Just recently used it as a day hiking hat and it breathes well too. Construction seems solid so far. Thought went into the design. I would recommend the hat if you are on the fence about purchasing it. It arrived from Portugal quickly. Hats off to Kaiola ;-)

Best surf or water sport sun hat I’ve ever owned. I have purchased other brands but they usually get soggy brims after a couple duck dives and are useless after a few sessions. This hat still looks brand new after several uses. Works like a charm even in head high surf. Take their advice and practice using the chin straps before paddling out in bigger waves. It does take a quick practice session and better to not be fumbling with it in the line up. Five stars!

A few years ago I purchased the surf cap, I love it, but was concerned about my ears being exposed in the ocean. I am a 56 year old surfer who has skin cancer. When I saw the bucket hat I ordered it immediately! It is such great quality, floats, fits perfectly and provides fantastic coverage! I have received many compliments from other surfers!
